Default BBC/ITV Satellite reception South Coast Fr

We asked 6 sat companies what dish we needed to get BBC and ITV in Nice and have been told everything from 65 cm to 1.2m (i.e. anywhere between 2 and 4 feet). As it is only a small top floor apartment with a tiny balcon size is important, so what is anyone else using?

We were also told:
- you must ask the permission of the Marie
- you do not need the permission of the Marie provided it is not visible from the street, but you do need the permission of the management company for your block (i.e. the other residents in your block need to agree)
- just do it and nobody will interfere provided it is not intrusive.
Comments anyone?

Thanks
Arthur

I've heard and seen the following in action

Nr Avignon - small black standard sky dish (43cm?) only have trouble in heavy rain (not so often) otherwise perfect.

In Alps nr La Plagne 60 something cm - troubles with itv and bbc in bad weather again, just put that down to those big old hills.

Check out the beam coverage here and you'll see that a 60cm dish should suffice. Spray it to match the colour of your building if it stands out.

If you've brought your sky box with you then nip down to your local Castorama and get a dish (with arm), LNB and bracket for €30-€40 or something, get your compass out and align with these instructions.

Hope that helps.
