On one hand you will get better interest in NZ and foreign withholding tax is just 10% but on the other hand the NZ dollar has recently weaken against...

I very much agree, Universities like the International Baccalaureate and it does give a boarder education rather than the A-level system of only doing a few subjects.

My tip for sorting this quickly is to buy some UK (or where ever you are coming from) multi socket strips. Then you just cut of one UK plug and replace it with a NZ one to get 4 or 6 appliance...

The local terrestrial French channels are quite good if your french is up to it. Otherwise they are great way to get up to speed. Plus you get a local view on news and other events.

I think it really comes down to logistics. If you are moving a van load of stuff and have room and aren't too concerned about possible problems getting it repaired in the unlikely even that it breaks...
