Re: Shipping from Perth to Galsgow.

Re: Shipping from Perth to Galsgow.

Hi

We recently returned to Scotland and our cheapest quote was with Keys Bros. - $6000 for a 20ft container. We had to haggle a bit, but that was the best we could get. We didn't take their...

Re: This just in ... Australia only the sixth best place in the world to live ...

This is the kind of total bollocks that really gets my goat. I've lived in both the UK and Australia and I can say that the UK is much better so this "report" must be a load of rubbish.

Re: Perth love it or hate it ?

It's far too ordinary to generate emotions as strong as love or hate. Totally ambivalent.

Re: For those worried about education standards in Australia...

I'm no expert, and god knows I don't believe everything I read on Wikipedia (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Scots_language), but it appears you are both right. I refer particularly to the second...

Re: as the same question gets asked 10 times a week..

You must be joking. This is the same WA where there has been an outcry about the fact that with the introduction of daylight saving it is no longer broad daylight at 5am so the locals can't do...

Re: Working hours - on average same as UK or more?

You can find statistics for UK average working hours here (http://www.statistics.gov.uk/STATBASE/ssdataset.asp?vlnk=5865) and hopefully for Australia here (http://www.abs.gov.au/) although I've not...

Re: as the same question gets asked 10 times a week..

I find working any day is a pain in the arse if you want to do something else. Surely the important factor about when you work is how it fits with your own circumstances. For me, I work...

Re: things that make you go ooohhhh

Not long after we first arrived, we went to Monkey Mia and were quite disappointed with the "dolphin experience". We should have known better really! Anyway, we took at trip on the Shotover...

Re: as the same question gets asked 10 times a week..

Most of the good have been covered. I can't believe the OP missed King's Park which is really one of Perth's shining lights.

Some more bad.
