Re: Hi Everyone 😊

Where in Italy are you looking at Shelley? I've considered both the North around Friuli or island life in Sardinia. The taxes do worry me. They have a regime to let you lessen the burden but they are...

Re: Hi from New Zealand

Hi Bristol Gal. Have you been back to the UK a lot over the years since you were 10? I'm guessing you have friends and family there pulling you home. It's likely not an easy decision (staying vs...

Re: Alexander Peter Wealth Management

This probably means they are a "finder". You contact them with €100k to invest, they work with you to decide which fund you'd like to invest in, then they refer you to the fund, and get given a €2.5%...

Re: Croatia holiday - can anyone help please

If they are on a budget, tell them to fly into Dubrovnik and go south of the border to Montenegro. 1/3 of the price, less tourists and debatably more beautiful!

Re: Greetings from Thailand

Hi Hugh!

Not to put you off but that sounds like a real adventure. It's funny how everyone at "home" thinks that moving home is the easy direction to go in, but every expat I know is challenged by...

Re: Vienna - why not?

Re: Time to take it seriously

My theory is: live somewhere quiet and visit busy places when you need it. The other way around means you have to escape when it all gets too much!

Thanks for your warm welcome :)

Re: Time to take it seriously

Also I should add, my current shortlist for living in Europe is:

Portugal
Malta
Montenegro

But you don't know what you don't know. So if anyone knows of a good place in Europe to live for...

Re: Transfer to Malta: But Where?

Hi fvbee, I am also researching Malta as home base right now. It seems to be the front runner for me (but that might change). Similar to you, I am keen on a location that is genuine instead of...

Re: Vienna - why not?

I loved visiting Vienna but don't know if I could live there year round. Before making the move, make sure to visit during Winter! It's a beautiful city but it can still end up very cold there.

Re: Poland

We've been to Poland twice. It's one of those places that takes a trained eye or some persistence to see the beauty of it.

There's a real growing cafe culture with great food at reasonable prices...

Re: Geneva to Venice in a campervan

Hi jam25mack have you looked at Montenegro at all? I visited Kotor last year and it was amazing. If you go that way (ferry would be more direct to Venice!), it's worth checking out.

Re: Going to be easier to obtain Citizenship?

This is interesting as Italy just introduced the rule for everyone (outside of through ancestry) to need B1 Italian certification. I hope they reverse it as I am otherwise eligible through marriage.

Re: Thinking of Cyprus

pkirk25, a friend lives in Cyprus but told me not many people spoke English. When you say "most people have a basic grasp of English", is this in the more touristed areas? Or do you find it this way...

Time to take it seriously

Hi everyone,

New member here. I've been travelling a long time (for work and play), but it's time to take it seriously.

My income comes from consulting abroad (fly in/fly out) and almost all of...
