Re: furniture in spain

Don't know if this is of interest but I've just found out that Ikea are opening a new branch in the next month or two in Murcia (apparently just off the A-7.) This is probably about an hour's drive...

Re: Self Drive hire van to move ?

Yes, I too saw that programme about the cat escaping at the airport but I'm sure it was an isolated incident and really wouldn't let it put me off flying my cats out if I were you, Gill.
And neither...

Re: Self Drive hire van to move ?

Thanks for the link - but Budget truck seems to be a US site and doesn't appear to have an option for any other countries; maybe that's why it's coming back as 'not available.' Not sure how useful...

Re: Medical Cover Required If Not Working?

Being in a similar situation, I was very interested (as well as a bit puzzled) to see this on the same British Embassy page that Nige kindly supplied the link to:

Re: Estate Agent in Spain - a new rule???

Thanks Meseta,

Yes, I stand corrected :o , although yes it does in fact mention lawyers and escrow accounts, they are not the kind I would want to be involved with - you will note it refers to...

Re: Estate Agent in Spain - a new rule???

Hello there,

(Just got home from work - 12-hour working days - one of the reasons we're off to Spain next year!)
The agent is www.costaspanisheyes.com - based on the Valencia coast.
I looked up...

Re: Estate Agent in Spain - a new rule???

Yes, and no mention either of escrow accounts or lawyers - there seem to be enough agents around to be able to steer well clear of ones like these. Perhaps they'd like a bank statement and reference...

Exclamation Estate Agent in Spain - a new rule???

Has anyone ever come across this one before? (Quote below from a Brit-owned Spanish estate agent's website.)
'Pay before you view' is certainly a new one on me and seems to fly in the face of all...

I was just...

Re: Money etc

Hi ironporer,
We already have a supply of authorised IFA's with knowledge of Spanish Law who do fleece the Brits for £1000 plus before we even walk through their door.
And this is before they get...
