Re: Getting UK television in France!

I can already get UK Freeview channels via my satellite tuner. What I'm looking for is a tuner that would permit me to record programs and access iPlayer.
After asking around, I have found out that...

Re: Getting UK television in France!

I have just tried Tunnelbear VPN and iPlayer still detects that I am outside of the UK.
Does anyone know of a VPN app (for Windows 10) that... works?

Yes, those seem to be the boxes to go for. However, I think one needs a "UK VPN router" so that the box thinks that it is in the UK. Can anyone confirm this?

Getting UK television in France!

For a long time, we have been watching Freeview channels (BBC, ITV, Channel 4, Five, etc,..) via our satellite dish (into a very reliable Golden Interstar tuner). The advantage is that once...

BBC iPlayer no longer accessible

Sorry if there is already a thread about this.

We have been watching programs on BBC iPlayer for years thanks to the free plug-in Beebs (with Chorme). The BBC have recently toughened up the acces...

Re: Roundabouts - Part 2

Another thing that I have noticed about the motorists here: they don't seem to know how to use their wing mirrors correctly. Instead of adjusting them to be able to see their left and right blind...

Re: Teaching English in France

Keep going and when you have the TEFL certificate, sign up to recruitement websites like Jobrapido, Indeed, etc... there are many job offers every day. A lot of demand out there.

Re: Roundabouts - Part 2

Gotcha. When going straight on, I used to stay in the left lane appraoch to take less of a curve on the roundabout. Seeing how the French take the roundabout, sometimes staying in the right even when...

Re: Roundabouts - Part 2

Yes, they all do that and even if they are going straight-on, they will indicate LEFT. Bonkers.

In Britain, if you are on a straight road, you never slow down to give priority to a vehicle...

Re: Teaching English in France

To supplement my income, I did a TEFL course on-line (quite tough at times) which took about two or three months to complete. As an "auto-entrepreneur"/"micro-entreprise", I then approached my local...

Yup. You register your primary activity with the CFE (Centre des Formalités des Entreprises) and get a SIRET Number.
After that, you can add other activities and use the same SIRET. That way you...

Re: Brexit affect on Job applications. Looking for work in Paris.

Wasn't the Carte de Séjour phased out for Europeans years ago? I had to get one when I arrived in the 80s but later on I never needed to renew it. I just keep it as a souvenir.

Re: Leaving UK for France, advice and guidance please

Yes, I haven't looked into that. I think I will stay with CIPAV because I have been paying to them for over 10 years already (as an EURL and now as an EIRL). Things are already a bit fragmented so I...

Re: Leaving UK for France, advice and guidance please

Re: Leaving UK for France, advice and guidance please
