Re: Retirement

Tax 'haven' is a bit of red herring. The income tax is set at 20% and there is no VAT, inheritance tax or capital gains tax. We have some MAJOR hi-rollers here and easily on a par with Cayman. Plenty...

Re: Retirement

Guernsey is a tremendous place to live and in a LOT of ways not dissimilar to Cayman. My wife and I call it the CayGuern Islands. Very small and everyone knows everyone or went to school with them or...

Re: Cuba

We went in September 2019 from Cayman for our wedding anniversary and stayed in Varadero in what was supposedly a 5* hotel. Cuban 5* and other 5* are not the same! But it was a fascinating trip....

Talking Re: Leaving Cayman

We were practically neighbours. We lived in Point Four Street from 2018 until 2023. Rented a flat from Terry Wilson (RIP Terry). Sunset House was our goto because we could walk there. Fabulous part...

Re: Leaving Cayman

All the best Gordon in your latest adventure. 46 years in Cayman is a long time. More has happened in that time than in probably the previous 500 years. I still read CNS even though we left for a...

Re: Queensland Police Service (QPS) International Recruitment

Ah Baz, the good old days working in the *****. My pal has just left there to join Queensland. I've left the Caribbean too and I've got a wee number in the Channel Islands now to take me up to...

Re: WA Police International Transition recruitment

Probably best that they didn't apply and were successful as I can pretty much guarantee that they wouldn't have lasted long. You have to shake that attitude off first and then absorb the culture of...

Hi Baz
Quality post as usual from yourself. FYI, I've left Cayman now after 5 years and moved to Guernsey. Different again from Cayman and very different from the old F div. Unfortunately QPS isn't...
