Re: Visa interview time frames

My lawyer had me sign a “statement of intent to depart” which is common and that was all. It didn’t come up at the interview. I wouldn’t worry about it unless you have some unique factors that would...

Re: Visa interview time frames

Had my renewal interview today in London and it was pretty much an identical experience to 5 years ago (just a new Embassy!) - very laid back and straightforward, just a lot of waiting around to be...

Re: Visa interview time frames

I booked my appointment through the https://ais.usvisa-info.com/en-gb/niv portal (after being invited to do so via email) - not sure if we're talking about the same website here?

Re: Visa interview time frames

Good question - I honestly can't remember... I would have either used my US address, or my Mum's address in the UK (my UK bank account is still linked to that address too)

Re: Visa interview time frames

I have my interview on August 1st - in the same boat as you (been in the US since 2017 so no proof of “strong ties”) and all the lawyer had me submit was a signed ‘intent to depart’ once e2 status...

Re: Visa interview time frames

Yep I had the same message - you’re in a waiting pattern now basically, 40-50 days after application submitted (based on my experience and others I’ve spoken to recently) you’ll
get an email either...

Re: E2 visa validity and passport expiry

Yes you do, I got an E2 from 2017 to 2022 on a passport that expired in 2020. You just end up traveling with both passports, it’s common.

Re: Visa interview time frames

Correct - application was submitted on April 28 and then had the email today inviting to schedule an interview.

That is without getting a request for further info though, which can be common for...

Re: Visa interview time frames

Heard back today with an invite to schedule interview (48 days after application) and the first available date was Aug 4th - then basically every other day in August was also available.

Re: Visa interview time frames

Yes fair points - I had missed OP’s question about handing in notice before the interview/visa in hand, definitely not something I’d recommend either

Re: Visa interview time frames

YMMV but the sense I (and colleagues also here on E2) got was once you’re at interview they’ve basically already made their decision and are just verifying you / seeing if you’ll say anything stupid...

Re: Visa interview time frames

Was this for an E2 visa or a different category? I’ve spoken to people recently who applied for new E2 or E2 renewals that applied in March/April and got interviews for May/June/July

I just...

Re: E2 --> GC Through Marriage

I’m also on E2 and have looked into this (AOS via marriage), so pretty sure you need to also submit form I-508, to waive some of the rights/privileges of E2 status? - https://www.uscis.gov/i-508

Re: Norwood (Boston): Where to live?

Southie is the “go to” neighborhood for graduates / young professionals. I lived there when I moved from the UK to Boston in 2017, aged 25. It has good bars, restaurants, beaches, and lots of other...

Re: Entering the US from Aruba (on E2 Visa)

Thanks Pulaski, that's the way I'm leaning too on the "risk/reward" scale. Nice to know I'm not being overly paranoid.

Entering the US from Aruba (on E2 Visa)

Hi all - just had a quick question that I'm unsure if anybody here might be able to answer

I'm currently in the US on an E2 visa (valid until March 2022) - I haven't left the US since November...

Re: E2 employee visa - review time?

Just as a further guideline for others - after the first request for further evidence / documents on January 11th, we then had another about 3 weeks later which delayed things further. So I guess...

Just as an FYI for others who may have the same question in future - we had a request for further documents come through yesterday; 22 days after submission.

Re: E2 employee visa - review time?

Thanks, just out of interest is that estimate based on personal experience, what you've seen on these forums from others, or something else?
