Can I ask what tax forms you mean? I remember completing a UK form to get a tax rebate for that tax year when we moved here but don't remember anything about becoming a non-resident although the form...

Ah, I see. Do you have to prove you are a resident? If so how do you go about doing that? We will be staying with my parents for a couple of months so won't have anything to say we are residents...

Yeah, if you're at that point two years is a hell of a long time and you are lucky in the sense that you are both agreed and you can move back. Better that and to have the usual occasional doubts...
