Re: Current Residence

When my wife applied for her spouse visa in 2016, we had nothing whatsoever in joint names and there was no problem. We did of course provide supporting evidence of marriage etc.

Re: Bank statements for ILR

I'm sure forum experts will confirm this, but as far as I am aware there is no problem at all. My wife used downloaded bank statements for ILR (she applied in 2021).

Re: Bank statements for ILR

Do you not use Internet banking? We are with HSBC and RBS and in each case you can save/print statements from the website or even the phone app.

Re: Phasing out BRPs

I though I'd mention some information I picked up on the phasing out of physical BRPs. If you go here: https://www.gov.uk/guidance/online-immigration-status-evisa you can read about the new system...

Re: British spouse is not settled in UK because of work

Out of curiosity, what cover letter are you referring to? When my wife applied for ILR (M) there was no cover letter to prepare, just the application form to complete and the required documents to...

Re: Citizenship after ILR

I was a referee for a friend a couple of years ago, and I just checked the documents - all I did was sign the declaration and Email back to him, he then added the photo himself (the photo didn't need...

Re: Phasing out BRPs

I noticed in another thread that you mentioned that BRPs "...will be phased out by the end of the year so keep an eye out for any publicity around the process to switch to an eVisa this summer...."...

Re: ILR(M) - Cohabitation Evidence Query

I happened to read this thread and I had a feeling that we submitted 2.5 years of correspondence when my wife applied for ILR. I just looked at her application form to see what we did, and in the...

Re: ILR and financial requirements

I don't think that our timing is helpful since things can change, but for what it's worth she applied in May 2021 and got the decision in October 2021, using standard service.

She just input the...

Re: ILR and financial requirements

My wife and I were in exactly this position, and she used £34,600 savings for her ILR application and nothing else. You do not need both.

Re: Phasing out BRPs

That scares me, but nothing we can do. This is useless speculation now, but it could have maybe been wiser to issue ILR BRPs with no expiry date, just to cover any delays or teething problems, rather...

Re: Phasing out BRPs

Thanks - I just hope that the arrangements are implemented efficiently well in advance of the 31/12/2024 cut off, since it could make travel really sticky otherwise ! My wife has ILR and is a Chinese...

Phasing out BRPs

This is a bit off-topic so maybe it should be a new thread, but here goes.....On the subject of the phasing out of BRPs, is there any news about what exactly will happen in terms of travel? All I can...

Re: Ilr application 5 years spouse route

Here what my wife gave as a reply (with some extra information for you for completeness) in her successful ILR application in April 2021.

My wife replied "no" - as you did - to the question about...

Re: Indefinite leave to remain 5 yr partner

Yes, I mentioned that my wife stays rent free in the letter I wrote.

Travel documents means passports.

Re: Indefinite leave to remain 5 yr partner

The correspondence covered the period October 2018 to April 2021, as follows:
2018: me Oct, my wife Nov
2019: me May/Sep, my wife Apr/Oct
2020: me Feb/Sept, my wife Mar/Dec
2021: me Jan, my wife...

Re: Indefinite leave to remain 5 yr partner

Just looked at my wife's application form, it clearly states that 6 letters/other documents to both parties are to be submitted. We satisfied this by submitting 6 each, so 12 in total.

Re: Indefinite leave to remain 5 yr partner

You need to provide proof of property ownership, so my wife used the mortgage statement.

Re: Indefinite leave to remain 5 yr partner

This is my wife's answer to this question (she applied for ILR in May 2021):

"My centre of interests is now in the UK and so I do not have any significant ties to China, either socially or...
