SSA and mailing documents

I have an amusing anecdote:

I called my local SSA office the other day to ask on procedure for replacing my "Valid Only with DHS Authorization" annotated Social Security Card with one that does...

Re: Anyone recently had a GC interview?

Yes. I had my original green card interview (was also on L-1A) in April this year that was cancelled because of the pandemic. This was for the Royal Palm Beach office in South Florida. It was...

Re: Pickfords Seafreight & Food

You've also got a Cost Plus World Market near Orlando (Winter Garden) and one a little north-east of it (Sanford). As well as their standard furniture, they also sell worldwide foods and I've often...

Re: DS260 Questions

The question asks if you’ve ever been arrested or convicted for any offense or crime. It does not ask if you appear on any criminal records check. You’ve stated a few times now that you were declared...

Re: DS260 Questions

I feel like even if you tried to explain to USCIS that you lived somewhere for however long, it's not going to matter in terms on a police certificate. They are looking for your complete criminal...

Re: L1 - extension denied (PANIC!!!)

So sorry this is happening to you. This was always my worst nightmare and it still gives me chills thinking about it.

Do you know which category green card you have been petitioned for? Based on...

Re: My journey continues

Hi everyone. So once again reviving an ancient thread to give you guys an update. In short, my 1220 day wait for a green card approval, is finally over. My profile on my.usics.gov is today showing...

Re: My journey continues

Thanks, that’s interesting. I’m going to get an RFE for expired medical though. Maybe I should just go and get it over and done with, again.

Re: My journey continues

i-485 has been Pending for over 2 years, so I'm already in AOS process.

Re: My journey continues

So here’s a rather impatient, if not silly question.

How do I read the current processing times for I-485, now that my I-140 has been approved? Understandably, my I-485 was held in abeyance of the...

Re: My journey continues

Well, would you believe it? 807 days of torment and waiting for a decision on the I-140. Those magical words...

Case Was Approved.

Re: My journey continues

I am actually just filling in my renewal for EAD/AP (expires next month). Less critical for me as I'm on L-1A already and don't explicitly need it, but it's my backup option!

Re: My journey continues

Thank you for the reassurance. The other thing that's making me less jittery, is that retrogression from the August bulletin has taken my priority date to after the final action date so I couldn't...

Re: My journey continues

I haven't been around here lately (sorry about that) as I've been putting my immigration status to the back of my mind recently since my RFE response went in late last year. There's no real update...

Re: My journey continues

Thankfully (I suppose, we'll see...) my priority date is before the final action date on the latest bulletin, so retrogression shouldn't affect me too much, if at all.

Re: My journey continues

I’ve just got word that my company’s I-129 for my L-1A extension was approved. Including Thanksgiving, the premium processing only took 7 days.

2 years of safety now, while we wait for that...

Re: My journey continues

Yes, I did. But as you say, I’m keeping that as a last-resort option. Being in I-485 Pending status and being in the US while not really having been admitted isn’t the comfort I need right now!

Re: My journey continues

And I think I just found something which answers my own question:

"The Petition Expiration Date (“PED”) listed on a visa stamp generally reflects the I-797 expiration date and the final date on...

Basically I got hit with an epic RFE, almost like the attorney had not submitted any associated paperwork whatsoever. While my...

Re: L-1a to Green Card processing route?

I am so jealous. 16 months and still waiting for the I-140. Although he attorney’s latest SR came back with the “your case is with an officer” response.

Yeah, that's consistent with what I was told too. Maybe we have the same attorney!

Re: L-1a to Green Card processing route?

Sort of. When my I-485 went in, the attorney said that it would be “OK to leave the US without the AP, as long as I returned using my L-1A. But they have messed up before...”

But now my wife has...

Re: L-1a to Green Card processing route?

Section F of the bulletin says this though...

Therefore, pursuant to the Immigration and Nationality Act, it has been necessary to impose an E1 Final Action Date for the month of August, with this...
