Re: Italy and the Eurozone

how can someone believe Italy would have done better keeping the Lira?
We had Berlusconi at the power for 9 years and the big central bank scandals in 2005, by this time we would have...

Re: Moving to Italy for Summer - which Regions are Best

You are a bit too generic, but I would suggest something near Bologna; good airport connections, best food, less than 1,5hrs to Venice, Florence, Verona and the sea.

Verona could be also good,...

Re: Where the crisi has hit hardest, by provincia

You can't understand where the crisis hit the most basing on property market, not in Italy for sure.

Italians like to moan all the time, but in my opinion it didn't hit as much as it has been...

Re: Living in Reggio Calabria

You notice when it's time to access public services like health care, rubbish, transports, etc...

Organized crime means high corruption and who pays for that at the end are the citizens.

Re: TRAVEL

Don't miss Craco then, the ghost town not too far from Matera.

I agree if you fancy some time by the beach Porto Cesareo is the best, but the town is quite ugly.
Have a look to Lecce, it's...

Re: TRAVEL

I would suggest to visit Lecce and Martina Franca but they are not on the coast.

If you really want to stay on the coast have a look to Gallipoli, it should be still buzzing in early september.

Re: Living in Reggio Calabria

I don't think so, it would be also hard to learn the language since many there speaks a local dialect or at least a very strong accent.

If not just give it a go,...

Re: Looking to Move to Italy this Summer

In my humble opinion Tuscany is overrated (especially over brits people), I would much suggest le Marche instead.

Sea and countryside are too different, you need to specify what you're looking for...

Re: Living in Reggio Calabria

Reggio Calabria is beautiful, but it's probably the most poor and less developed region in italy, the one with the highest unemployment rate.

If that is only for 9 months, I suggest you to go cos...

Re: Football must be sooo important for italians !?

Ferrara in my opinion is the best place for local food in Italy.
It's also a relatively bike-friendly town.

Good pick

Re: What would you suggest for living: Italy or UK?

Actually I'm on a kind of roller coaster, every day I change my mind.

The only news is my salary won't increase anymore since I really drive mad someone in the company with all this, so now I'm...

Re: Renzi and the Planks

In some parts of EUROPE there's a low respect for the rules overall (from both workers and employers, rich people and poors, beautiful and ugly and so on...); from little things like smoke policy,...

Re: Renzi and the Planks

I totally agree about the scandal of the people getting the retirement before the 60s. In the 80s you could still get retirement well before 50, I know many people who did.
Thanks god (and Monti)...

Instead I am paying a huge amount of taxes and i won't probably get more than you, for sure...
