Re: 5 weeks?!?!? What the what?!?!?

If you are paying a premium for an insurance policy, they are required to provide you with a copy of the policy wording on demand. Don't accept that twaddle - you're entitled to know what you are...

'We're sorry you're currently unable to...

Re: Elementary education Innisfil, Ontario

Hi Sophie & Dave,

After moving to Canada in 1999, my Canadian wife and I moved to Innisfil in 2004. It was the first time I actually felt at home in Canada - we all love it here!
We have 3 kids -...

Re: what's bad about Canada?

I'm with you hubby on that - it drives me nuts having to repeat myself all the time. I too try to speak a little more slowly but sometimes I just forget and I can see the vacant smile looking back at...

Re: UEFA Champions League Cup

I work 7 - 3 and one hour from home - so I just calmly and politely explained to my boss why I needed to leave an hour early and she said "no problem"! :D Excellent! Wish I was back in the UK with...

Re: Football on TV out there?

Just to make it simple (ish), you want:

Rogers Sportsnet - for the Saturday Premiership stuff;

Fox Sports World Canada (FSWC) for a tape delay Saturday Prem game and for any Prem games in the...

Re: What will you most miss about the UK

My Canadian wife has learned to make a decent curry using imported products found in the local Brit shop.

I get plenty of footie banter at work - got an Italian, another transplanted Brit...

Re: Anybody In Or Around Barrie

As far as Innisfil goes it is a township and is made up of smaller towns. Some have more facilities than others. I live in Alcona and it has pretty much everything we need including a library, 24 hr...

Re: Anybody In Or Around Barrie

I live just south of Barrie. Barrie as a town has everything you could need but if you are looking for something a little more peaceful then Innisfil could fit your needs. www.life-and-times.ca there...

Re: New here-much to say-many questions-please help

Karma for courage, Katadina. All I can suggest is that whatever you decide, make sure you, your husband and both children are all in agreement.
I wish you all the very best.
Jon.

Thumbs up Re: Has Anyone Landed In Canada in the Winter Months?

Just want to echo my namesake's remarks here about driving in snowing / icy conditions. I also took a January driving lesson when I got here. One of the best $45 I ever spent, as I learned a lot!

Re: I'm homesick!

I was in there on Sunday, believe it or not, covering an Irish breakfast meeting for a local paper. Yes, it advertises 'warm beer and bad food'! I confess I have never had a pint or a pie there!...

Re: I'm homesick!

Mr Lee, I'm missing points 2,3 & 4 as well. For point 1 you can substitute the Purbeck Hills and Dorset Coastline for Wales but I take your point!
I'm in Alcona, not a million miles from you. If you...

Thanks for the responses. Sorry I was stroppy / grumpy - having a bad day and clearly got a sense of humour bypass while I was asleep as well.
