Smile Re: PR renwal - best time to apply to meet eligibility criteria

Ah okay, I understand the rolling 5 years now, thanks for explaining this, Christmasoompa  . I think I should be good to apply now since I've got over the 730 days counting from landing...

Re: PR renwal - best time to apply to meet eligibility criteria

Ah okay, thanks for this Siouxie. So I should be okay to apply now, as it counts my days in Canada starting from 5 years from landing (which was Sept 2016), rather than 5 years ago from date of...

PR renwal - best time to apply to meet eligibility criteria

Hi, I was wondering - my PR card is due to expire in October this year. And though I don't have any plans to travel at the moment, unless I had to, I was thinking of getting it renewed just in case,...

Smile Re: UK Pharmacists in Canada

Thanks Babyracoon :), yeah it was a major relief to have passed the exam :D. If I was more organised and had made up my mind what I wanted to do, I would've spent more time preparing for the exam....

Re: UK Pharmacists in Canada

Hi Babyraccoon!

Nice to hear from another UK pharmacist in Canada. I'm currently preparing for my qualifying exams later this year, after having passing the evaluating exam in January. I know...

Re: Vancouver vs Calgary

Thanks for your thoughts on this sun burnt in oz, much appreciated. Yeah i've decided in the end to head back to Toronto as I'm an Ontario PNP. Toronto is a bit of a busy city for me, though lots...

Re: Vancouver vs Calgary

Thanks for the link Siouxie :) I'll give the app a try when I get there. It looks like its getting a bit too high tech for me :D. Though it kind of defeats the purpose when you still have to queue...

Re: Vancouver vs Calgary

I guess if it's improving, that's a good sign. But I can imagine it to be pretty busy if there's a large number of passengers using Toronto as their stopover.

Re: Vancouver vs Calgary

It wasn't too bad the last time I arrived into Pearson, though i think the novelty of my first arrival probably clouded my judgement, and I was oblivious to my new surroundings. If I remember...

Re: Vancouver vs Calgary

Doesn't sound very efficient this new system, especially if you have all your luggage you have to collect to push around with you. Must make things tight for time for those with connecting flights...

Re: Vancouver vs Calgary

Thanks CanadaJimmy for checking this. I'll be flying with AirTransat, and I think with them, we would need to pick up our luggage at Toronto whether you fly on or not - not so convenient if you are...

Re: Vancouver vs Calgary

Yeah I had checked with the airline about luggage, and apparently I would need to collect my luggage in Toronto whether I was going on further or not - apparently all flights coming into Canada from...

Re: Vancouver vs Calgary

Thanks BristolUK for your thoughts on this. I have decided not to take the risk and will land in Toronto when I go back. I know it's not worth risking my PR for leaving to go to another province. ...

Re: Vancouver vs Calgary

Thanks Sioux for your advice on this.

One of my thoughts was to move to Burlington, though it looks lovely, it's almost just as expensive as Toronto and I think I'd have to commute to Toronto to...

I know there is that risk :-/ My only other option is to land as a holiday and move back to somewhere else in Ontario.

Re: Vancouver vs Calgary

I know it's not the wisest decision I've made and probably too hastily with thinking that I'll book flights while the sale was on. It is a one way flight, and I know that if i tried to change it...

To be honest, I really don't know what to expect in Vancouver, other than the winter is not as cold, when I'll be arriving back with winter coming up. I have thought about where else I can move to...

Thanks Siouxie. Yeah it's been a while since I've been here. I landed in Toronto September 2016, and stayed for 6 months and did a survival job whilst I was there since I found it hard to find...

Re: Vancouver vs Calgary

Thanks for your thoughts on this dbd33. I quite liked Vancouver, even though I was only there for all in all around a week for a holiday and it was the summer. I did find it more chilled than...
