I paid GPB1300 for the car and GPB1500 for the furniture to Elite. Then theres local costs for delivery of containers and obviously the different duties, in the end you can do it and at quite saving...

To answer the question - figures are approximate and for the Cape Town area.
Visited Joburg, doesn't seem as bad as generally made out, but security apparently of major importance.

Am not comfortable on a racing bike, weight on arms a pain, also weigh about about 100kgs before saddle bags, so pity racing tyres, but hear what you say and advice is in accord with pros advice....

Thks for the response. I do have a mountain bike of good quality (suspension, 21 gears, wide on/off road tyres,) thought of avoiding having to fly it in. But don't want to pay Eur1000 for a bike...

This is being a bit cheeky but - look at the victoriancobbles website - we sell copings at equiv AusDollars2 which leaves a hell of a lot over for import costs. Do 70% of 3 pool companies...
