Thanks again. My search didn't come up with that.

I'm still going to do our annual tax returns retrospectively but now I know about the NIE number being what HSBC need it isn't so urgent.

That's great thanks, LA. I've filled in the form again and put her NIE number on.

We still need a TIN, snikpoh. HSBC are asking for it. But now I know to put her NIE number.

I agree. My bank knows my Spanish address and, up to now, is happy to keep my account open with this address. But I couldn't open a new account with a Spanish address. Same with my UK visa card.

I think you should make an appointment for an MOT in the UK. Then when you're driving from the port to the garage, you are going for an appointment. Not sure if your insurance will be valid though!...
