I think you'll find that in the UK there's a tax credit for mortgage interest paid x 20% - so no change to the tax position in the UK unless you are a 40% or 45% taxpayer.

I would have a conversation with your pension fund administrators regarding the 25% lump sum.

You need to ascertain the Applicable Fund Earnings component in the lump sum for Aus tax purposes.
