Many live comfortably on a lot less than that, and when you get your UK pension pot lump sum ( taxable in Spain) and your state pension, you will have more money than you know what to do with

We did the same
We kept our bank account in UK when we moved to Spain, so no problem about trying to open one
I imagine the OP also has a bank account in the UK?

I did put NO on the basis that I never had Spanish citizenship, even though I lived in Spain, and as Mike said, therefore could not have had a card allowing me to travel, but the way they word it is...

Of course I did have an ID card, but it wasn't valid for travel?

It's just that a set amount is paid for each expat regardless of whether they ever see a doctor or visit a hospital, so if they go to the UK, that is another expense
