Re: The refugees you don't hear about.

Just out of curiosity, what's stopping me from illegally entering Canada, destroying all traces of ID and claiming refugee status? Obviously they'll know I'm not a legit refugee however, they can't...

Re: 2nd IEC visa, new SIN?

Yes you need to go to a Service Canada Centre and show them your new work permit. They will then issue you an extension of your old SIN which will be valid until your new work permit expires.

Re: How many British do you meet a week?

I work Downtown Toronto. There are at least 5 Brits who work in my shared office space. I also hear other/new Brits in the elevator or downstairs in the food court almost everyday.

Re: Express Entry System - how to prepare?

It doesn't make sense that your employer has to apply for an LMIA even though you're already working in an NOC skilled position under the IEC (or any other LMIA exempt permit). I just hope this isn't...

Re: Express Entry System - how to prepare?

I'm working under NOC code 1223 and getting an LMIA would be next to impossible in that skill set. By April I would have accrued 1 years work experience in Canada and If I somehow managed to secure...

Re: Express Entry System - how to prepare?

Thanks ChrisBan. Looks like I have no hope of staying here permanently. Although my job comes under a NOC skill set, getting an LMIA for it would be extremely difficult as it's not a massively in...

Re: Express Entry System - how to prepare?

None of the information released so far addresses the following issue I have:

Re: multiculturalism in Canada

I'm against the very concept of multiculturalism. It divides many communities in society and does not encourage neither integration or assimilation.

Re: "Canadian Experience"

It's interesting to hear all the replies. I think most of it confirms many of my friends experiences in Canada. I hold a TWP but yet to activate it (It expires in March 2014). I currently work in...

Re: "Canadian Experience"

I'd also like to add that many skills and experiences gained in the UK are surely, at least on par with Canada?

"Canadian Experience"

I just thought I'd share this with you guys. I know many migrants, even British expats who have struggled finding work in Canada because employers require 'Canadian Experience'. I can kind of...

Re: So how is your accent?

Stokie is NOT the easiest accent to mimic either. I'm from Stoke and miss oatcakes terribly. You can get them in Sainsburys in London (UK) but they are packaged and taste like rubber.

Re: Entering as tourist before activating IEC visa

I plan to do the same thing. Land in Toronto as a visitor, get myself sorted out with a job, accomodation etc. Then cross the border and come back with an activated work permit.

Re: Your Claim to fame ?!

I appeared on the daily politics show in 2010. They filmed me campaigning on the streets and even interviewed me regarding the issues of that week.

I've also appeared 7-8 times in my local...
