10 years in spain taught me that there are just about no conclusive regulations, just a constant chaotic beaurocracy, i have been given the runaround, told it was not possible etc, then same place...

no, but residents card, padron,NIE, your employer should get you regitered with the Hacienda and Seguridad Social, ( known as "la Alta") you will get a SS card in the mail after a while.

He has told me it will be regitered in france and has an adress there.

I will of course do this throug a gestor but...

you need to carry and alcohol test kit in france now, available in most garages,

the coast of spain is nice, but i loved the mountains, i recommend the odd detour away from the coast and up into...

i think my question was not very clear, the english resident is resident in england and will probably be registering the vehicle in another EU country.

so no NIE.

previously when selling a car i went to a gestoria with buyers NIE/NIF padron and passed the registration and took payment...
