Decision time....again!

I've been in Brisbane nearly a year but over all it looks like I have to accept a substantial drop in standard of living or return to the UK.

A comparable house to the one I had in Scotland is out...

Australia TOTAL RIP OFF...personally I've had enough and I'm looking to move back to the UK...Houses...rediculous prices for oftain no more than a glorified sheds...imported cars are taxed to protect...

I see the word "survive" used alot... thats exactly what I'm getting at, yes on 170k + per year of course you can survive, but what I'm saying is I am not happy just surviving, its a real culture...

I appreciate what your saying...however I dont feel you are painting a true picture of what to expect if you move here from the UK.
My UK house (Not 17th Century...19th) was sold for 375k GBP in...

My salary is over 170K AUD plus bonus.

I have been here for 6 months and its not all its cracked up to be...the people take some getting used to...most have a broom pole inserted where the sun dont shine...the language used in office...
