Many will have a Canadian passport and expired UK passport as it's not worth renewing it now after Brexit. So travel to UK and arrive on your Canadian passport with an ETA. No need to inform anyone...

Believe I've had two in around 8 years. One had to be re-sent by DWP because it was not received, resulted in pension payments stopped and my subsequent complaint. Thanks to all for the replies....
