Re: TFW Program changes includes capped numbers, increased fines, and increased fees

Thanks again. We may be ok to renew then.

I read on CBC:
"Reducing the amount of time a temporary foreign worker can be employed in Canada, to two years from four"

So made me unsure. Time will...

Re: TFW Program changes includes capped numbers, increased fines, and increased fees

Thank you for posting those links.

Not 100% sure, but suspect this means I can't apply to renew my TWP next year when it expires. Previously I understand I could apply once, not so sure now.

Is Titirangi commutable?

Hi,

Anyone commute into the CDB from Titirangi, Auckland? Wondering what it is like? And does the train station at Glen Eden help at all, assuming it has enough car parks.

Thanks in advanced.

Re: Valuing foreign home at Point of Entry

Understood, thank you for the explanation.

Sounds like it could be a <5 year thing, unless any gains are minimal.

Re: Valuing foreign home at Point of Entry

Thank you for your response (and everybody).

Don't know how long we will be there for until we've lived there for a while. Sounds like it may well have to be less than 5 years, TWP should be for...

Re: Valuing foreign home at Point of Entry

My mistake, thought/hoped could choose principal residence. If living in a rental then can't actual owned home be principal residence. Thanks.

Just spotted your question. 99% sure I saw that on this forum, maybe someone was asking the question rather than stating fact.

Re: Valuing foreign home at Point of Entry

Thank you for the reply Aviator. The valuation is the tricky bit, the house is an insurance write off and will be rebuilt within the next few years. So currently hard to value, but in time will be a...

Valuing foreign home at Point of Entry

Hi,

I understand at your Point Of Entry into Canada as a temporary resident you have to value your foreign home, but I can't seem to find anything on what is acceptable to value a home.

Our...

Re: Ontario Car Insurance for ex-pats

We'll be moving to Waterloo, good idea to try some brokers.

I did a TD Bank online quote, seems like it will cost us about C$180 a month per car. That must be more than I paid as a 17 year old...
