Dolphin village is about 20 mins out. is good for facilities like pool, club etc but it depends if you like close contact living similar to holiday complex style - not for everyone (including us!)...

You can get a tourist visa on arrival at airport/border crossing if you come in by road and are a British citizen - 20 OMR if I remember correctly? Pay by card. You must have at least 6 months to run...
