Isn't the EB1-C the real fast processing GC? Those visas are always current if I recall? The new fiscal year starts in October, and that will open up more I think. Good luck with that.

The wait has been an interesting affair. It's hard to settle any kind of roots down, when you're not sure if the next phase of the GC will be accepted or denied....

Actually yes, as I initially immigrated to Canada, before moving to the US. Spent 4.5 years living out there (Edmonton, Calgary, Toronto and Vancouver). Got my citizenship and left the country.

Have you thought about maybe moving to Canada? You can get a Canadian green card (landed immigrant), if you get the required points. Once in Canada, wait 3 years and get your Canadian citizenship....

If you hubbie does lose his job and is out of status, you can both transfer to visitor visas (B2). So you can stay in the US for another 6 months, like anyone coming to the US for holiday.

Hmm, won't HSBC or Citibank in the UK give you a US dollar credit card? That's what I got when I first moved to the US. I just used the CC to pay for my time in those Extended Stay America places....
