I should add I have just noted on failing in my plan (if you're are being strictly legit) any goods pruchased within the last 6 months before you return the UK should be declared for duty

Mike please don't misunderstand me, I'm not trying to say one is better than the other. I'm just giving the original poster some information so they can decide what they want to do :)

I'm not sure on the going rates nun but as an accountant (in a different field though) it sounds high to me.

You might have mroe luck if you get a few quotes and also consider if it's cheaper...
