Thanks all - very helpful, sounds like the L1 route is a non-starter given the need to go out for periods while trying to get to the 365 day requirement. It would be 2014 before got there! Ta.

I mean actual working trips - say for periods of time, eg 2 weeks at a time several times.

Is that definitive that time spent is added on? Do they check your entries and go through that process...
