Re: I751 VSC RESULTS ONLY

Our I-751 was trasferred to the VSC from the TSC at the end of February and was approved a month later on March 31, 2008. They have a lot of TSC transferees so that may bog them down a little bit.

Re: TX I-751 transfered to Vermont

We were very surprised to have recieved the new card in the mail today a week after it was approved. It appears that there are a few things that they can do in a reasonable amount of time.

Re: I-751 Transferred....What Does It Mean?

Buendia, did you get approved? We got approved today so here is hoping that you already have yours or will have it soon. On to the N-400!

Re: TX I-751 transfered to Vermont

Our I-751 petition was originally filed with the TSC on April 19, 2007 and it was among those transferred to Vermont in late February. We received notice today that it was approved and card...

Re: I-130 (where to file?) and K3 (is it worth it?)

They are absolutely right about the dubious value of a K-3. My wife got one back in the day when it was taking the TSC a couple of years to approve an I-130. The K-3 did allow her to get here within...

Re: I-751 (2007 Only)

Actually our local post office is pretty good about it. We only have to show them something like a utility bill once a year. I guess they feel guilty about not providing street address service not to...

Re: I-751 (2007 Only)

So you live in one of those towns too! I can't tell you how many times and how many sites (like Amazon) insist on using the physical address as the mailing address. I try to explain that where we...

Re: I-751 Transferred....What Does It Mean?

My wife will be eligible later this month to file the N-400. I was looking at the instructions and it's the same old same old. You wonder how many times do they have to take the biometrics? How many...

Re: 189 approved for removal of conditions

The poster sounds like one of the people who filed their I-751 with the Texas Service Center but recently had their petitions transferred to Vermont.

Re: I-751 Transferred....What Does It Mean?

Now that's an avatar from the past! Still one of my very favorites. We're in the same boat you're in. Our notice and online status has the exact same language as yours does. Our receipt date was...

Re: Large age differnce and fiancee visa

When I was at the embassy in Bogota I saw a USC about 60 years old trying to get a young (early 20s) Colombian woman a fiancee visa. He said that they had tried 3 times previously and each time there...

Re: the tough question(s)

In answer to your first question, I know of someone who came here on a tourist visa and overstayed for five years working illegally the entire time. She entered into a sham marriage and AOSed without...

Re: AOS success for tourist overstay and worse

You're right about 1 and 2 but I would have thought that they would have questioned her a little more closely about her adjustment application in view of these circumstances.

AOS success for tourist overstay and worse

A while back in a different thread I had posted about a friend of my wife's who had come here as a tourist and overstayed for several years working illegally. She had entered into a sham marriage...

Re: K3 Visa - GOT IT!! Whats next??

Actually you may want to go back to London. Some of the USCIS offices take years, yes years, to act on I-485 applications. Others, like ours in San Antonio, handle them in a few months. So depending...

Re: Married overseas, came to US on tourist visa, what are the options?

One would think so. They always make it sound as though being separated is a reasonable option for everyone else but unthinkable for them.

Re: Married overseas, came to US on tourist visa, what are the options?

I love these people for whom being "physically separated" just wasn't a choice. So they just had to evade the immigration laws. My wife, being Colombian, we didn't have the option of evading the...

Re: How Risky Is It to Translate Document Myself?

We didn't ask the other person to sign it blindly. They looked it over and it was the same as they would have done themselves. I am not sure that I would do this for anything other than a form like a...

Re: How Risky Is It to Translate Document Myself?

We needed my wife's birth certificate translated for her AOS so we just did it ourselves and then had a friend who was fluent in both languages sign that it was an accurate translation. No problems!
