Thing is, I will be migrating not taking a holiday. Kids will be going permanently and I won't be returning to the UK so how can I maintain it's for a holiday? It's just a way to get there...

thanks for that but unfortunately in the UK it has to be a solicitor, JP, Magistrate, Notary Public or court official who can take affidavits. High Commission said nothing else acceptable...
