As far as I'm aware the 1/2 inch is to cover for the small diameter pipe work,
The 2 inch is usually sch 80 or xxs, to cover the thickness range,
And the 6 inch is to cover all the larger butts.

in my experience a lot of countries and every job i have ever tested out for has given a range of test pieces.
a typical test for a company would be,

1/2 inch carbon in 6G full tig...

yeah i have experiance in pipe fitting and and welding in the oil and gas industry aswell. and i have also never found it a problem getting a job eithier within a workshop or on site here in the UK...

I work 12 hour shifts 6 days a week and sometimes work a sunday aswell when its available now with an hour each way drive so as long as I have 2 day off after my 14 days in work that sounds good for...

That's where I come good because I do have loads of coded tickets on high preasure pipe line work with all relivant experiance and as I am apprentice trained I have all offical documents for my work

Yeah I don't mind working shifts like that and if there is chance to work on some of my 7 days off aswell that would be even better for my bank balance with the overtime rate

i have been looking online for jobs and i have found that seek.com.au and indeed.com.au are the best job sites to look on
