Re: Re-locating to france with my Family

As with most things in France the requirements are national but the interpretations and the emphasis can be local. If your local CdM needs to register you, obviously it's best to find out exactly...

Re: Taking a UK car with no MOT to the UK

Which of course won't be possible because you can't tax a car if it needs an MoT and doesn't have one.
Obviously it isn't legal to drive a UK reg car on the roads in any country with no tax or MOT....

Re: Re-locating to france with my Family

I'm sure it wouldn't be difficult at all but it would involve erasing UK normes from your memory and replacing them with current French normes because the basic rules you have to adhere to will be...

Re: Re-locating to france with my Family

It is worth investigating whether any equivalence has been set up for UK/EU electrical qualifications. There may be a process you can go through to have your UK qualifications recognised. It's no...

Re: Re-locating to france with my Family

Just be aware that British sparkies who have been working in France since pre Brexit will have had a different experience because pre-Brexit, UK qualifications were automatically recognised...

Re: Re-locating to france with my Family

Hello Macca1995 :welcome:

Electricians always seem to have plenty of work and presumably they make a decent living.
As dmu says, UK qualifications aren't recognised in France any more and in any...

Re: Moving within France

It sounds like you are well on top of things as always. Hope the move goes without a hitch, and that you settle in quickly and enjoy your new abode, I'm sure you will!

Re: How long do I have before I HAVE to send my 5 yr old to school?

I suppose that technically, provided you keep an address in your current country of residence and don't bring all your possessions with you when you arrive to stay with family, then as EU citizens...

Re: Relocating & schools

Since his kids are (presumably) not French he has no residence rights through them, and his partner's visa won't give him any rights either - I think even a passeport talent only covers legal...

Re: Relocating & schools

A Brit can't be registed as an employee in France unless the employer has successfully applied for work authorisation, and I don't see how this could be achieved in these circumstances.
But the OP...

Re: Relocating & schools

Why the sudden rush??? where's the fire?
How soon could it be possible, well if you're intending to apply for a visa on the basis of having bought a suitable gite business, you will need to have...

Re: Can Spain convince Brussels

What can letally prevent a law being passed is that France has a written constitution, and no French law can contradict that constitution.
The Conseil Constitutionnel rejected as unconstitutional...

Re: Can Spain convince Brussels

No, it wasn't taken into consideration, they were looking purely at whether the proper Senat process had been followed or not. As I recall, the statement declaring the proposal rejected on the...

Re: Can Spain convince Brussels

Of course there are distinctions, but these are result of negotiation and careful consideration of what's going to be fair and acceptable to everybody, not just spur of the moment tweaks to the rules...

Re: Stay in Spain for >3 months (UK and EU citizen wife)

I have no idea how fussed Spain is about the requirement to register after 90 days. Did all the Brits who spent the winter in Spain pre Brexit used to register after 90 days? I find that hard to...

Re: Stay in Spain for >3 months (UK and EU citizen wife)

That is exactly what EHICs and GHIcs are for.
You're UK residents visiting Spain. Have you ever been quizzed on health insurance when you've gone on holiday to Europe ? Have you ever worried about...

Re: Stay in Spain for >3 months (UK and EU citizen wife)

Surely you're making this far more complicated than it needs to be.
You can forget about visas and residency requirements because you say you don't want to become resident. All you need to do there...

Re: A Thread on Tax for simple-minded people

Being me though, I have to echo that 10 years is a long time and the picture can change a lot. I decided to make the move when I had 10 years left to go...

Re: Advice /Help

You could have a word with local notaires. Sometimes notaires have lists of property for sale, and I imagine they're not as picky as estate agents because it's not their main business, they don't...

Re: A Thread on Tax for simple-minded people

As I understood it, he is thinking of renting out his second home in Spain (or France) and his question was that he is concerned that this might scupper his rights to a UK S1.
He is thinking that...

Haha, but nope ...

He was wrong with the second bit then, because 183 is not France's main criteria for tax residence. You can spend fewer than 183 in France and be resident, that is not at all...

Re: A Thread on Tax for simple-minded people

The problem here would be that you were asking the "non-resident" tax line a question that is not relevant to non residents. The non resident service cannot answer questions about how you will be...

Crémant - à consommer avec modération.

I'm intrigued by your robot-waiter. What does it look like? Can you interact with it, ask it to fetch you another spoon and things like that?
