Re: BTEC Level 3 Diploma & WES Evaluation

Sorry for butting in but do WES / ICAS only assess academic qualifications / education? My husband has vendor / professional certifications (Microsoft) and a 1 yr City & Guilds from decades ago. I...

Gosh, that's awesome. My 7 year old loved it! I've shared it on Facebook for my friends' kids. Really puts it into perspective...

Re: skilled visa ACS requirements

When they say "Degree with IT Major" or whatever, do they mean your work experience / professional qualifications etc. are equivalent to a degree with IT major (in Aus terms)? Or do you have to have...

Re: Melbourne short-term accomodation

I've made several enquiries via Air BnB and every time I find something in my budget, turns out there are no dates available! Very frustrating...

Re: Finding meat free products in Brisbane?

Ha yes, it sounds blatantly obvious now you've said it! A friend of mine once used the term 'condom' to describe them, and it kind of stuck!:p

Re: Finding meat free products in Brisbane?

Those vegie delights look nice, but I couldn't find a price? (I guess I'd have to look at the supermarket's site but not got time at the mo - will check later). Be interesting to see how they compare...

Re: Finding meat free products in Brisbane?

Yeah, possibly. I guess if you slipped some into my food and didn't tell me then I'd probably eat it without noticing! (Don't suggest that to my husband, please!). :p

Re: Finding meat free products in Brisbane?

Oh good grief, are we still talking about this? I've explained the difference between liking the taste of meat but not wanting it in my mouth (my tastebuds don't like the thought of eating dead...

Re: Finding meat free products in Brisbane?

Thanks, Northern Bird. I don't have a problem with other people eating meat and I'm certainly not one of these "holier-than-thou" sanctimonious veggies who trying to convert everyone else, so your...

Re: Finding meat free products in Brisbane?

I'm sorry - did I have to keep checking the forum every 5 minutes incase someone posted a reply?! I do have a life, thank you, so I check the forum at my own leisure. What I was insinuating was that,...

Re: Finding meat free products in Brisbane?

@Roaringmouse: In answer to your questions (which I was waiting for - surprised it took you so long):-

* I don't want to source 'kindly-killed' meat, thanks. I'm quite happy with my dietary...

Re: Finding meat free products in Brisbane?

Glad you've managed to source some :-) I like the facon and fam over here (fake bacon / fake ham) - great to put in sandwiches (I get bored with egg / cheese / egg / cheese so it provides variety)....

Re: Finding meat free products in Brisbane?

No, not particularly aimed at you, just noticed that we seemed to be going off-topic - i.e. discussing people's dietary preferences as opposed to trying to find 'fakon' (what I call 'fake bacon';)),...

Re: Finding meat free products in Brisbane?

Eating meat doesn't (the animal is already dead), but the way in which a lot of them are killed, does. For me it's also the squeamishness of putting something dead in my mouth. Please don't let's...

Re: Finding meat free products in Brisbane?

Mmm it's good stuff! Everything is made from something. Luckily for us veggies it tastes good (unlike a lot of processed foods with dodgy derivatives that taste awful).

I'm curious about the...

Re: Finding meat free products in Brisbane?

I am a vegetarian because of the cruelty aspect. However, I love the taste of meat and so eat "fake meat" products. I'm sure there are other veggies out there who aren't veggy simply because they...

Re: Is french a must for worker in IT department in France?

Not sure if your job allows you to work from home but, if so, why not work for a UK employer but live in France? Just a thought.

Re: Newspaper article on 457 visas

But surely it's not as simple as training up the Aussies? I mean, a lot of the skilled / highly-skilled jobs require not just training and qualifications (the potential result of TAFEs) but also...

Re: Newspaper article on 457 visas

Hi Paddyo, yes it was kind of a rhetorical question - if employers are going through the hassle / paying the money to get someone over then that should be a good indication that there aren't any...

Re: Newspaper article on 457 visas
