Thanks for the replies.

The plates were assigned to the car which I sold so the owner became the official owner. Unfortunately, I did not think I would return to Australia which is why I sold them...

NDT stands for "Nothing Done Today"

Truthfully though, its a form of inspection on metal for cracks etc and to check the thickness - In layman's terms.

They request a copy of each page of your passport, but I guess this could be easily bypassed too if you required.

Ok, seen as there has been a few non believers i've attached my import docs (work out the dates on page two) and a couple of pics of the car - First in the UK and second registered in WA.

Sorry it wasnt actually the Dept Of Transport, it was the Dept of Infrastructure, which deal with the whole of Australia as the call centre is in Canberra and I'm in WA.

No, they have to go see the car at the AQIS depot. I contested it through my agent and calling customs myself. I then set up another valuer to go round off my own back

yes it was roughly 50% of the market value they valued the car at. I disputed it and they lowered it a little saving me over $1000 in taxes!!!

Ive taken my 2008 335i over, costing $15,000 in total but will make that and more when i come to sell it.

As for sat nav etc these all work fine, only my traffic management system doesn't get a...
