I don’t personally posses any French master card but one of my European friends has used it for hiring car in Europe and never had any issues with it. So I think you are fine with it.

If the amount you are spending now on traveling is less than hiring the car then stay with it. If rental car is a cheaper option then go for it. One of the best things I read in one of the above post...

New Zealand is a ,descent place to visit and explore. Though it can be expensive at times but when compared to UK all the prices seem cheaper a lot here rather than in UK.

I doubt the airport authorities will let your sister board flight easily. It usually depends upon the airlines you select but most of the airlines would let you board the flight if you don’t posses...
