Re: Palombaro Abruzzo

Before committing I would suggest spending your holidays (and as much time as possible) in the area you think may fit the bill; at all different times of the year not just the nice months. There are...

Re: Palombaro Abruzzo

Re: Abruzzo?

If they are not on mains drainage they should have a septic tank; that doesn't mean to say they have one or that it's a legal one. Black holes are still very popular, even in houses that are...

Re: Abruzzo?

My comment would be... ask about the drainage system. if the house has a septic tank make sure it has the right permissions, or any permission at all, and get it in writing from the agent. There are...

Re: Illiad Telecom

Do any of those who currently use Illiad also use online banking? When the offer first came out I know there were a few banks who didn't recognise the company and would not/could not send SMS codes...

Re: Italian Citizenship

For the 'Motivi di' (for what reason did you come to Italy) someone on another forum told to put for work, which is not exactly true as I lived here for a few years before working, but I think I'm...

Re: Italian Citizenship

Ciao tutti. I've worked my way through the application form for myself and my husband and I've got a bit stumped on page 6 - Titolo di Soggiorno. I've picked the EU citizen option but then further...

Re: Boiling bacon or gammon joint

:nod:You probably will Lorna. I did. Got VERY excited at seeing raw prosciutto and asked if it would be suitable to either boil or roast and the butcher said yes. What we ended up with was boiled...

Boiling bacon or gammon joint

I have a real craving for some lovely thick slices of boiling bacon/gammon. I know you can ask for thick cuts of cooked ham in the supermarket, but I'd like to boil my own. Does anyone know what this...

Re: Dog friendly Italy!

No signs and no idea how they avoid poisoning their own dogs (unless they remove it when they arrive) We've since become friends with a truffle hound owner and he's warned about the practice. These...

Re: Dog friendly Italy!

Firstly I'd like to say that we had a springer cross and he loved it here in Abruzzo. It was lovely for him to run around like crazy, BUT, there are dangers.

During the hunting season we had a...

Re: Telecomitalia

We've had the same thing. They didn't take anything in July but then took two payments in August. We're waiting for fibre and want to change to a business tariff but it's a long and S L O W process.

Re: Insurance

We are insured with Intasure. We are resident, but if you're not they may do a non resident policy you'd have to check. We looked at changing to an Italian insurer, but after lots of research even...

Re: Self Employment, VAT & Tax.

We've been self employed for 18 months after also being the same in the UK, and as modicasa says it's very different!

You'll need to speak to a commercailista. A sort of accountant, who will help...

Re: Car Insurance terms

Re: Keeping open UK bank account
