skype has another great tool for calling - You can request that they assign your UK number to a Canadian 'dummy' number and then you call that local number from your cell phone, home phone, work...

fair enough. I cant compete with that kind of background but this 4% thing is just what I've read and experienced with the two contracts I've had with Banks in Toronto.

nope, your recruiter (unless they give you actual days off work) must pay vacation pay. Make sure when negotiating a contract with a recruiter that the rate is quoted before vaction pay.

I was told (by a recruiter though so that may discount his advice!) that you take the salary you would expect and divide it in 2 and thats the comparative hourly wage.

50k = 25p/h

Im still waiting on a letter to tell me that my pics were not good enough. Even though I know they were rejected in June, i cannot send them new...

Id expect you leave it there. Would you need it between now and when you get your passport back?
Would be a good idea to photocopy your passport and permit though... just in case!
