I've just called them again this morning was told that we should receive the letter within 2 weeks. How long does it take to send a letter?
I met a lady on Monday who said I could take our pics to the Toronto office without the letter if I need the pictures urgently. I'm not sure how far that's true and don't want to take the children out of school for the day and be turned away when we get there. I'm waiting impatiently for the letter

When I called a second time I said that I needed the card as I was going on a trip out of Canada. The Customer service persontold me that I could go to the office, sit and wait to speak to someone but unless I needed the card urgetly they wouldnt do anything. I was told that if I had my flights booked it would help. I countered that I didnt want to book my flights without the PR Card and she said, that in that case I could go to the office buts its highly unlikey that they would help. Ive decided to just need to wait for the letter.
Il reply here when I get it.

How do you know the PR cards were rejected, or do u just phone them?
Ours will be 4 weeks since we landed on Saturday, and about 6.5 weeks by the time I get over there on 11th October.
After how many weeks should I give them a call to make sure the pics were ok? Thinking of calling them if I haven't heard after 2 months?
Wayne.

I was told exactly something very similar to you. We landed ont he 14th of April and went back 2 weeks later. I was informed at the airport on the 22nd of Aug (the day we arrived back in Canada) (22nd of Aug) that there was something wrong with one of our pics and advised to call the 1 888 number. I called and was told that our pics were rejected on the 9th of June and we would receive a letter by the 15th of Sept advising us of what to do.

Your post beat me to mine!!!
There's no sign of the letter, however I called the CIC office and asked if I could take our pictures to the Toronto office as suggested by the lady I met a few weeks ago and was told I could between 8 - 9am Mon - Friday so we went there today.
We had our pictures taken at our local Walmart last night and the children's pictures were accepted, however my hubby's and I were not

We had to have another one at a photo place near the office called Joe's discount photo (lovely guy who knows his stuff!!!) and they were finally accepted.

We were told that we'll get our cards in the post within 6 -8 weeks. I have put a reminder in my diary to call them exactly 6 weeks today!!!!

Our PR cards arrived yesterday exactly 7 months after we landed!!!

Did you make it to the office in Toronto? If so, how did you get on?
Wishing you and everyone that's still waiting to receive their card the very best.

Mine arrived this week aswell actually. I got into the office 3 weeks ago and wasnt waiting long at all. The guy was helpful and said there is a delay with the 'letters' advising that there was a problem with my photgraphs - I never did get the letter. Anyway the most surprising bit was when he checked the photos, he just held them up and said 'looks good' - i had expected at least a ruler to check that my chin was not too far from the bottom, that my ears were perfectly aligned etc etc!
Anyway, got my cards this week.

Funny enough, the lady who attended to us did check our photos with a card with did say that my ears and that of my OH stuck out too far and we had to take another photo near the office!!! We didn't receive the letter too. I'm glad that's all over, waiting for our OHIP card now!!!

I 'landed' on the 15th October, but they just wouldn't accept the address that we gave for Permanent Residency, because we are going to NB and the address was in BC with a family friend. They said I had to be in permanent residence in order to have it sent there. However we have now bought a house in NB, and are arranging to be there in the first week of August of 2012does anyone think it might be a good idea to send the forms back to them in December, by which time the property will have closed in order to get a Permanent Residency card if not by, but soon after, my arrival?

I landed on 3rd Sept 11 and was told it would take 6 weeks for PR card to come through. Not having heard anything I gave them a call yesterday. I was told 'yes its late, I will send an e-mail to the processing dept and you should get it within 30 days'.
No reason given for why its late, I was not told of any problem with photo, so assume it was just an oversight.
So if anyone has not heard back, I would suggest a call to them, just in case you need to prompt them.
Hopefully I will get it within 30 days.
