I just arrived back in Canada from Scotland yesterday and British airways disembarked the plane by grouping of rows for my flight as well.

I personally hope this is something all airlines adopt...

I flew in 2010 from Canada to the Glasgow with ashes. We didn't have any issues at the airport leaving they just took a swab around the urn to test and as far as i am aware there were no issues...

I have never heard of findmypast.co.uk but I will definitely look into them :)
It was my parents who left Ireland and Scotland to move to Canada but they only remember back to their grandparents so...
