Kirby Lonsdale is absolutely gorgeous with loads going on and some fantastic shops and restaurants. The Church mouse cheese shop is amazing!

I have spoken to my daughter about this, she wants to do part of her degree in Canada, some allow a year abroad. I think she may also try for the BUNAC thingy. She isn't sure yet.

If you are a foodie, Grange has one of the country's best bakeries, one of Rick Stein's Food Heros. I love it, much to the detriment of my waist line. It is a handy little town because you are close...

Ulverston is a lovely town. Also Grange over Sands. Both in Cumbria fringes of the Lake District but with fairly reasonable house prices and good links/shopping/social life.
