Re: So was it worth it after all the sweat/tears?

You know, people can go through phases. And I am not sure why they get offended so easily by what some people may like or dislike or when they hear what they don't want to hear. :p You may hate...

Re: So was it worth it after all the sweat/tears?

I am Turkish and lived in Australia for almost 8 years up until November 2006, left it a few months after getting my Australian passport. As nice as Sydney was, Australia was kind of a boring country...

Re: Cost of tooth extraction in QLD?

I know what you mean.. I was referred by a friend to a good and cheap (root canal= $400-450) Asian dentist somewhere in the west of Sydney about 5 years ago and I would go there by train in about an...

Re: Cost of tooth extraction in QLD?

When I was in UK, with cheap flights I could travel to Turkey or Croatia for dentist to avoid stupidly expensive dental treatment and paying so much money does not guarantee that you will get a good...

Re: Racism in Australia

Well explained! I hate London but in terms of tolerance, it is 50 years ahead of Sydney.

Aussies complain heaps about migrants including poms and yanks- as if they are any better than Americans....

Re: Racism in Australia

Most of you are cousins of Aussies, I don't get it when you can actually think that you can sit down and discuss the experience of racism in Australia. You are all white for heaven's sake. I am too,...

Re: Racism in Australia

Australia is the most racist country in the world. Even the Australian accent smells racism with that frikkin twang.
So you all shut up, Poms! Enough said and end of story!

Re: Melbourne or Brisbane

Sorry but anyone that calls Buenos Aires very dangerous by Brazilian standards is either dreaming or delusional. I know it is only what you heard, not your experience. So not calling you delusional....

Haha no, it should be clear in my posts that English isn't my first language. Mike Stanton sounds like a British name.

Re: Melbourne or Brisbane

24/7 , where 24/7? In Australia? Australia is dead after 8pm except for bars and clubs.
Go to Madrid, Buenos Aires, Istanbul , Bangkok if you want 24/7. not Melbourne or Sydney.

Re: Melbourne or Brisbane

You will find that Munich is way prettier than Melbourne and it is not at the bottom *** of the world like Melboring is. A short train trip or a dirt cheap flight will take you to tens of exciting...

Re: Melbourne Winter Weather?

I actually prefer London summer, as there is not much suffering if you don't have to use the tube.

Brisbane can get uncomfortable in summer, but if you drive down to Gold Coast or if living there,...

Re: Melbourne Winter Weather?

It can get unpleasantly hot in Melbourne- dry heat though- with flies all over CBD (yes I was working in CBD and remember those days very well, wasn't dreaming), yet winter can be uncomfortable- and...

Re: Melbourne Winter Weather?

I lived in Brisbane, Melbourne and Sydney. Yes Melbourne is very cold in winter by Australian standards, not so much by UK standards. Don't go comparing with Sydney or Brisbane. Who wants extremely...

Re: Melbourne Winter Weather?

I lived in Melbourne for two years, after Brisbane / Gold Coast. For me moving to the other side of the world was for beaches, great weather, outdoors life style, not for the stuff you would find in...

Re: Melbourne Winter Weather?

If you say so Crow.. Melboring was definitely much colder than Gold Coast and even Sydney, I guess global warming made the place warmer over the last couple of years : )

Re: Melbourne or Brisbane

We are all entitled to our own opinions with experiences we may have had in the past. That is what you will see in hundreds of posts on this forum.
Melbourne has to be one of the most uninteresting...
