Re: Failed Driving Test

Glad your partner has come around. I had only driven automatic in TX for 43 years. I couldn't imagine driving a stick shift again. It makes a huge difference to have a car. Mind you, I'm still not...

Re: Process for rental approval

As Pulaski suggested, I would fill in the form as best you can. That's what I did, but from the USA. I loved the house and so I offered six months rent in advance. That pretty much sealed the deal as...

Re: Accommodation and rentals

Good point, but when the landlord saw they were just over 2 kegs each, there was no problem. The agent said kids can potentially cause much more damage.

Re: Accommodation and rentals

Re: Has anyone brought a TV home

I didn't bring home my two one year old Samsung smart tv's. Sold them to a friend.
I bought two on sale from Argos online here upon my return. Price every bit as good as Best Buy in Dallas.

Re: Over 40's Moving Back and Catchin

Hello Helen, I've been back since September and after 43 years in Dallas, I'm not finding the transition particularly easy. I do have to say the people are very kind and helpful, especially my...

Re: Moving and Rent Deposit

I paid six months in advance plus deposit and also dog deposit. I'm really ok with that. My house is £850 pm and in Northern Ireland the rates are built in to the rent. Something less to worry about....

Re: Bank Question

I didn't have an HSBC bank in Dallas so they had me come to NYC to fill in the remainder of the paperwork. I managed to schedule it the same week as my daughter's wedding in NYC.
