Thanks again, that has made things much clearer. Could anyone suggest the time turn around from when the employer (sponsor) files the application for the H2-B VISA, until you actually receive it?

Nice answer Thanks Rene. Is it also obligatory to remain with the same employer in the US through out the full duration of the working VISA? Or is it possible to seek work through other employers...

I called HSBC direct from Tenerife and i was told i needed to have a UK address before i could open an account with them. They recommended an offshore account would be best as i didn't need a UK...

That is great news, i only hope it goes that way when i approach the bank to open the account. Offshore accounts incur a 25 pound fee each month just to keep the account open, i haven't got 300 pound...
