I've got a mate at work who runs a karate class on a compound twice a week if your interested.

I've notice some kind of martial arts place on the eastern ring road (j10 maybe) too.

If the jobs paying 18k and you would like 52k then the jobs not for you. Cost of living here is cheap but the most expensive thing is getting away regularly enough so that you don't go insane.

If you are going abroad to work for one year from next summer then you will be taxed anyway. Golden rule - Make sure your time working abroad covers a complete tax year (5 Apr). Come out next June...

I bought a motocross bike a few months back. I go out to the desert most weeks with a group of friends. Great fun. There's also a pretty good mx track just outside Riyadh too.

I don't think it's enough money (all though I know of a few students who have come here for that kind of money). Make sure you can get a multi-exit visa as most/all of your money will be spent...

I've used Mobily Wimax (2Mbps) for the last 9 months and it's ok. I've just signed up for another 16 months which currently costs SAR2,060 (SAR2,520 if you don't have the Wimax hardware).
