Re: VISA options for starting an office in Australia

You are welcome. If you find out something interesting or perhaps someone who did it I would appreciate if you could share. I found 3 topics regarding that on other British expat forum, though I am...

Re: Advice Needed.

If being closer to Thailand is crucial then choosing Singapore would be wise. However I am surprised to hear something like that when you spent more than 15 years in US. I read people stories though...

Re: VISA options for starting an office in Australia

It seems you are in similar position to mine. I found out that expats on this forum don't have much experience in the particular example we are asking about. I asked about this few days back:...

Re: Advice Needed.

@ex reg made good points.
@Ksea what you don't write is your current financial condition in US. If you get the same salary there or almost the same, then you won't be better here. Everything, except...

Re: Company setup -> 457 -> 856 = PR in 2 years?

I am in touch with lawyer, migration assistant and business migration company. The point is they say it's doable but it is always good to check with people's experience before spending almost US$20k....

Re: Company setup -> 457 -> 856 = PR in 2 years?

I did ask earlier but since then I did more homework and asked specific questions. It's hard to believe that no one went this route as it seems much easier than business visa, even if it would...

Re: Company setup -> 457 -> 856 = PR in 2 years?

Let's say I would meet those "eligibility" criteria and would pay myself that kind of salary. That was not the question of salary or employee eligibility though...

Re: Company setup -> 457 -> 856 = PR in 2 years?

Thanks for the info.

Have you been sponsored by company that you own(ed)?
There is no other way to meet the required "benchmarks" than hiring PR or Australian, right?

Re: Company setup -> 457 -> 856 = PR in 2 years?

I am sorry but I know the general requirements and I am really not going to read doubts people might have in this regards. I am purely interested in people experience in this particular matter either...

Re: Company setup -> 457 -> 856 = PR in 2 years?

I know about business visa but the process itself is quite long and complicated, while 457 seems straightforward.

Maybe employing Australians would make a difference, but considering that company...

Re: Company setup -> 457 -> 856 = PR in 2 years?

None Australians would be employed, but company would provide export income straight away.

I would be happy to hear from entrepreneurs who went this route actually and not from people who "thinks"...

Company setup -> 457 -> 856 = PR in 2 years?

I went through a lot of posts here but couldn't find a relevant example. I am in the process of incorporating Pty Ltd which I will be 100% shareholder of. The company will sponsor myself for 457...

Re: Advice Please re retirement in Singapore

Question is why would anyone want to retire in Singapore? On one hand I know that it is a perfect place to live but on the other it doesn't offer much for elderly people.

Singapore doesn't want...

Re: LTBV application approval and your experiences

Are you saying that your company pays 28% tax and you simply take the drawings out? So there is no need to pay any additional personal income tax on those drawings?

Re: Can anyone help? Malta questions!

Malta is beautiful laid back country. I lived there for 2.5 year and have wonderful memories. What you've been offered is not much to be honest and the accommodation allowance is indeed very modest....
