as long as your UK license is the EU type you only need to convert it to an Italian one when it expires. Local police are still claiming you have to change it after a year but that is not Correct....

Mass will be celebrated Christmas Day with traditional Christmas Carols and hymns. 11.30am in the church of St Anna, Via Sant'Anna, Ceglie Messapica.

I set up an account and transferred £100 to try it out. It worked fine. The fee was £1 and I got €1.22 to the pound. Natwest gave me €1.16 and charged me £17 in all for drawing €500 out of the ATM...
