Well its 35 in Ireland. And i did it that way and had no problem getting a job.
The way you describe is only asked for in theoty put in to practice is a whole different issue. Have you tried it?...

Hi

If you are younger than 35 you can get an open 1 year open work permit. You could come over on that, get your licence over here(by the way are you aware that you cant switch your UK licence...

Its for Manitoba provence. And yes i have a job offer and contract, my employer has applied for it nearly a year ago!

You need an lmo first, dont you? you get the work permit at the border after showing the lmo to immigration? this is the way i did...
