Work Visa & Redundancy

Has anyone been in the situation where they are here on a job specific work visa and then lose that job (in my case via redundancy)?

I have my PR application in but if I can't work I might starve...

I can't say I've noticed any public campaigns, not like all those UK ads for tax credits and 'remember to tell us when you change your circumstances' stuff. Also they don't do personal tax returns...

Hee hee, what with me being famous of course would be worth a fortune. It was a PG Tips one, so could probably have used it and even after 3months got a stronger cuppa than your average Kiwi brand...
