Can't believe red zone homeowners are bemoaning the fact they think their houses are worth more than the government are willing to pay them. In most countries they would have got nothing in the way of financial help and they would have been left to fall back on insurance. In a way maybe this is evidence of that saying "Everyone thinks their house is worth more than its actually worth".

Grand Chancellor is still standing, there have been cranes there for a few weeks but they've not started dismantlement. April 2012 before the red zone is fully open again apparently.
