Re: Electronics/DVD Question

Many DVD players can be made region free. The longer they've been on the market, the higher the chance you'll be able to buy one that can be unlocked.

As for voltages, we've found a number of our...

Re: Getting SKYPE in Canada

I've found that setting things up when you're still in England is *so* much easier when you use Skype. You can't dial the 1-888 or 1-800 numbers from England, but you can do it through Skype. So...

Re: CAMRT Exam....help!

Just a quick update - I passed first time. *phew* that's a weight off my mind. Another step closer to Canada - YAY!

My wife and I are emigrating to NS sometime this year, and it occurred to me that there are a number of options when it comes to cars.

Re: What's the equivilent of [shop name] in Canada?

Yeah - we had a look round a 'Source' when we were in Halifax, NS. It struck me as much more of a Dixons or Currys (or similar store) - over priced and (as previously mentioned) try and hit you with...

Re: What's the equivilent of [shop name] in Canada?

Does anyone have an equivalent to Maplin Electronics (in particular in Nova Scotia)? In the US, there's Radio Shack. I don't really fancy having to drive 10 hours to visit a store I like just...

Re: Finally off for our NS Recce!

So far so good. Only driven on the wrong side of the road once, and scared ourselves silly by driving out onto the highway when someone else was coming. That was a bit of an adrenaline burst! Still...

Re: Finally off for our NS Recce!

We have just landed, and the weather is beautiful! Not got much planned for today as I knew we wouldn't be up for much after the trip, and its a national holiday here today so not much we can do. We...

Re: IMP and relocation

UK2NovaScotia.com are a relocation company, but they make no bones about where they get their money from ie referrals and commission from estate agents in NS. I wouldn't say that was particularly...

Re: How litagous are Canadians?

I'm not sure - but I don't think it's possible to be self-employed radiographer in Canada. Because of the radiation implications it's not possible in the UK

Re: How litagous are Canadians?

My question was more of a general one, than one specifically aimed at the Health profession. As a radiographer, I often hear* people saying "I tripped over something, so I'm going to sue!" even...

How litagous are Canadians?

There is a growing, pervasive and distinctly unpleasant culture in Britain of people suing over ridiculous things (and some less ridiculous things). Given the proximity of Canada to the US...
