Re: Recommedation for very good immigration lawyer

I've heard from a lawyer friend that these guys are good. I've never personally used them:

Re: Outland/Inland, which application...

No.
The entire process must be completed before being allowed to work or get health benefits.

Re: Spousal Timeline just for FYI

Congrats guys.
Good luck abaddon!
I think you should get it back a lot sooner if you are in the UK, but they do say they can take 14 days to process...

Re: Spousal Timeline just for FYI

All done.
Flag-poled this morning at Niagara Falls. Stopped at the OHIP office on the way home, had a bite to eat, got her S.I.N. and were home by 3PM. :)
Time for a few pints. :D

Thanks to all...

Re: Flagpoling

Thanks. I took US cash anyway.
We basically flag-poled at the Rainbow bridge today. The officer asked at the booth what we were doing. I said going to look at the falls from the US side, but mostly,...

Re: Flagpoling

Silly question.
Do they accept visa cards for the $6 visa waiver forms?

Re: Anyone experiencing problems with Canada Post?

I only qualified it because I've had the postie come on Saturday.
They may have been sorry they were ill Friday, or will be off Monday. ;)

Cheers Richmond Hill. My Grandparents are from there.
I...

Re: Anyone experiencing problems with Canada Post?

This isn't entirely true.
Post generally is not delivered weekends in Canada. Some outlying areas like BC  may have different rules, but generally, in the sophisticated parts of Canada (not an...

Re: Help

I believe you may declare dual intent when entering Canada from a visa exempt country, and a PR application is in progress.
This doesn't seem to be your case, unless you plan to leave and return...

Re: PR inside or Outside Canada?

My wife has just completed an outland application.
We did the medicals here (Ontario), were married here, and applied from here outland. She was visiting on her passport for six months, and had an...

Re: COPR lost in post but can they still land?

Why does London CHC send passports back via regular (albeit "signed for") mail?
This I'll never understand.
Even CD companies, or Amazon sends via courier which can be tracked.
I'll get my new...

Re: Who knows CIC Paris e-mail address? Please

Good luck. I know the stress of sending such important documents and being at the mercy of the mail or couriers.

Re: Help

Yes, I wasn't sure of the reason for refusal, or what their letter said.
Our refusal was quite clear about restoring status or leaving the country within 30 days.

Re: Anyone experiencing problems with Canada Post?

Don't lose hope.
I gave you a link in your other thread to email the office.
The London office replied to my emails within 2-3 days.

Re: Anyone experiencing problems with Canada Post?

Canada Post doesn't deliver letters in France. ;)
I assume you mean Fed-Ex or CP's contracted courier.
I've had various issues with both Canada Post and Royal Mail. I can never figure out who the...

Re: Help

I'm not really clear on why you were refused. It's hard to believe they didn't want your $75. Unless it's the same as happened to us, and they just want the $200 restoration fee (a long story...

Re: Spousal Timeline just for FYI

Nevermind...
Wouldn't you know I got an email shortly after posting the above telling me that the passport was sent out yesterday "signed-for" post.
I guess we've managed it all in about 5 months...

Re: Spousal Timeline just for FYI

UPS tracking says passports received by "Guard" in London May 10th.
Nothing sent back yet. I emailed CHC London. No response.
I'm getting worried now...

Re: Using Fed-Ex for passports

I'm worried about time and security. :)
I know about declarations, I do some commercial shipping, I've just never shipped anything as important as a passport. ;)
